National Insurance Numbers

How to I change the name and address attached to my NI number?
(Updated 17 November 2005)

It is important to change the name and address that is linked to your NI number to ensure that HMRC can contact you in connection with state pension matters.

You can inform HMRC of the changes by writing to your nearest Jobcentre Plus office (http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/cms.asp?Page=/Home/AboutUs/OurOffices) or HMRC office (http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/local/individuals/index.htm), giving details of the changes and, if you have one, returning your old NI number card.
