Calculator to help employees compare tax credits with childcare vouchers

HMRC has introduced a calculator to help employees decide whether they would be better off receiving tax credits or taking childcare vouchers from their employer. It is a little laborious to use but, after completing the series of question screens, the recommendations are quite specific, quoting the amount by which the employee would be better off by taking or not taking vouchers.

The calculator is not designed to calculate a person's tax credit award.

The calculator is a pilot that will run until the end of February 2007. Suggestions for improvement are welcomed.
