Employment Law - Northern Ireland

Employment rights in Northern Ireland

The way has been opened by The Employment (Northern Ireland) Order 2003 to introduce into Northern Ireland many of the wide range of changes to employment rights that have been introduced or are yet to be introduced in the rest of the United Kingdom by the Employment Act 2002.

The Order makes changes to the operation of Industrial Tribunals and the Fair Employment Tribunal, and introduces dispute resolution procedures, the issuing of employment particulars, equal pay questionnaires and payments for union learning representatives.

None of the new measures have been brought into force yet.
