The DOR is introducing "eFile & Pay", the electronic filing of Iowa withholding deposits and returns for tax periods that start in January 2005. Employers without a computer will be able to use a touch-tone telephones instead. Paper returns will no longer be available. However, employers do not have to make their payments unless that is already a requirement.

In advance of the first electronic filing date, employers will be sent a reminder and the personal e-business file number that will be required to gain access to the system.

The annual Verified Summary of Payments (VSP) for 2005 will be filed electronically in 2006. The VSP for 2004 may be filed through the existing online service or by paper.
