Because the Unemployment Trust Fund remained over $250 million dollars on September 30, 2006, employers will be benefiting from a 1.0% fund balance reduction or discount from their rates for all four quarters in 2007.

Fund Balance Reductions are only given to employers whose tax rates are 2.7% or less and their rate has been determined from schedule 1 (positive reserve). Employers who are new and have yet to receive an earned merit or experience rate are also allowed these fund balance reductions.

Beginning with the tax reports for the quarter ending March 31, 2007, a change in the New Hampshire Unemployment Tax Law will result in the minimum New Hampshire state unemployment tax rate increasing from 0.01% to 0.1%. This change will be reflected starting with the quarter ending March 31, 2007 quarterly tax & wage report, due April 30, 2007.
