Oregon's laws have been changed to conform to federal laws requiring states to close loopholes that allow employers to avoid paying some unemployment insurance taxes. Questions and answers about SUTA rate manipulation are now available on the UI Tax website.

Minimum wage increases from January 1, 2006 - Oregon

The minimum wage increased from $7.25 to $7.50 per hour, effective January 1, 2006. Oregon law requires the minimum wage rate to be adjusted annually for inflation by September 30th of each year for the following calendar year.

There are no sub-minimum rates for trainees or minors, although there are some special provisions for student-learners and disabled workers and some workers are exempt. There is no tip credit provision and tipped employees must be paid the full amount of minimum wage without the benefit of a tip credit.
