The Office of State Revenue's annual report for 2003/04 shows that 99% of clients used the State's pay-roll tax software to calculate and complete their pay-roll tax annual reconciliation return and 80% of those clients also lodged their returns electronically, up from 60% in the previous year. However, the failure of some businesses paying wages in excess of the $600,000 threshold continues to be an issue for the State. Pay-roll tax debt accounts for 39% of total outstanding debt, down from 49% in the previous year.
