Canada Payroll News - Reductions in Employment Insurance Premium for 2005

As of January 1, 2005, the employment insurance contribution rate for employees is reducing from its current level of $1.98 to $1.95 per $100 of insurable earnings. The employer rate paid is also reducing from $2.77 to $2.73 per $100 of insurable earnings. Maximum insurable earnings will remain at $39,000 for 2005.
