The Double Taxation Agreement, signed by representatives of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Belgian Government in December 2003, came into force on October 7, 2004. The agreement applies in Hong Kong for any year of assessment beginning on or after April 1, 2004 and in Belgium in respect of taxes charged on or after January 1, 2004.
