In May 2009, the Government published a consultation document on the implementation of the European Directive on Agency Workers. The consultation period ended at the end of July.

Acas has now published a Discussion Paper on the subject, drawing together the views of various bodies on the issues of agency work. The Paper considers the experiences of agency workers, the conflict between protection and flexibility raised by the Government’s plans, and the continuing issues with the triangular relationship between workers, agencies and clients.
