Mark Merrick joins Ceridian as Chief Operating Officer

Ceridian, one of the largest providers of human resource services in the world, has strengthened its Senior Leadership Team with the appointment of Mark Merrick. Mark joins the company on 22nd September in the role of Chief Operating Officer. Reporting directly to Managing Director, Doug Sawers, Mark will be responsible for leading Ceridian’s UK Senior Operations Team and Consultancy Services functions.

Doug Sawers, Managing Director said: “Mark’s deep operational experience and outsourcing market knowledge are huge assets as we continue to modernise and enhance customer service in Ceridian. With the launch of new technologies earlier this year, we have broadened our service reach and welcomed new customers as a result. I have no doubt that Mark will be instrumental in continuing to drive growth and innovation in these areas and am delighted to be welcoming him to the Ceridian team.”

Mark joins Ceridian from an interim management and advisory business, where he was a Director. In this role, he gained extensive experience managing projects across Europe and the USA in the areas of operations, acquisitions, marketing and sales. Previously, he was the South American Regional CEO for Origin (now Atos Origin) and held senior positions at CSC Computer Sciences, Coopers & Lybrand and Midland Bank.

Mark holds a BSc degree from Loughborough, an MBA from Strathclyde Business School and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
