HMRC has identified a number of errors in the updated edition of the recently-issued Employer CD-ROM. A downloadable patch to correct the errors will be made available later in July. The errors are as follows:
- Net Pay Estimator - The estimated net pay shown only includes the deduction for tax and not NICs. The National Insurance Contributions Calculator on the CD-ROM can be used to work out the NICs due.
- SSP and SSP2 Calculator - On a small number of occasions the results from these two calculators are incorrect. HMRC recommends that, to ensure the correct amount of SSP is paid, the SSP Calculator on the HMRC Internet site should be used at present.
- P11D Working Sheet 2 - If this Working Sheet is used to calculate the car benefit on cars with a list price of more than £80,000 the taxable amount of car benefit is incorrect. However, the car benefit calculator on the CD-ROM is correct.
