HMRC Guidance for 2009/10 - Updated booklets and forms available on HMRC Orderline

All of the 2008/09 year-end forms and the forms and guidance documents for 2009/10 are available to order or download from HMRC’s Employer Orderline. The following documents are of interest:
- form P9X provides the annual instructions on the general tax code uplift from the start of the 2009/10 tax year
- Employer Helpbooks E14, E15 and E16 all have new names – Employer Helpbook for Statutory Sick Pay, Employer Helpbook for Statutory Maternity Pay, Employer Helpbook for Statutory Adoption Pay
- all of the guidance for paternity leave and pay has been moved out the SMP and SAP Helpbooks into a new booklet E19 Employer Helpbook for Statutory Paternity Pay
- Helpbook E14 has new sections on (1) the issues for employers that operate their own OSP scheme, and (2) a sample letter that may be used to inform employees that they do not qualify for SSP for a reason that does not appear in form SSP1.
