Lincolnshire Teaching Primary Care Trust selects Bank Staff Management System from SMART

SMART, Lincolnshire Teaching Primary Care Trust has selected a Bank Staff Management solution from SMART, providers of workforce management software, to ensure more efficient booking of the 650 bank and casual staff across the Trust.
The selection is a call-off from a contract to provide electronic rostering solutions to NHS Trusts in the East Midlands region, put in place by re:source Procurement Hub.
John Watkinson, Employee Services Manager at the Trust explains, “The SMART Bank system will help us to achieve faster and more efficient booking of both bank and casual staff whilst sending booked hours back through to our ESR payroll system, imperative for accurate payroll.” He continues, “We have opted for a hosted solution as this enables us to start using the system as soon as possible and will also give us the option for staff to access the system from home in the future to view and book available shifts.”
Using a combination of data held in ESR and the SMART Bank Management Solution the Trust will have full visibility of available bank staff, be able to view staff training and skill profiles, conform to security and legislative requirements and easily record bank staff working hours.
Tristan Spencer, Health Market Director comments, “This is the second NHS trust to purchase a system from us using the East Midlands procurement contract, helping to confirm that trusts can achieve efficiencies of time and money when selecting IT systems if they work together in this way, it really does speed up the process for all involved.”
