(London, 27th November 2008) Prudential Corporation Asia, the Asia business of international retail financial services group Prudential plc, and Thomsons Online Benefits, the leading employee benefits consultancy and software provider, announce a new partnership enabling Prudential to use Thomsons Online Benefits’ market-leading Perquisite™ software for its third-party employee benefits services in Asia.
In addition to life insurance, asset management and consumer finance, Prudential’s Asia business provides employee benefits services through its “empower” division, which helps companies establish and manage flexible employee benefits programmes. The new software will enable empower to streamline and reduce administration of its client services, thereby providing enhanced value at reduced time and costs.
Commenting on the partnership, Kevin Rice, Head of empower, said: “We look forward to working with Thomsons Online Benefits as our technology partner in Asia. Their software services provide us greater flexibility to configure schemes which will help us to offer our customers an even higher quality of services and support, and also lower their per-employee processing costs through advanced, web-based administration and tools.”
Chris Bruce, Managing Director of Thomsons Online Benefits, added: “There are tremendous benefits to be realised from using technology to manage employee benefits. Flexible benefits are still in their infancy in Asia, but we are excited to work with Prudential and with empower to provide employers with this next generation of flexible benefit services and support.”
Despite a softening economy, employers in Asia continue to develop flexible benefits schemes — especially as they look to reduce administrative expenses and find new and innovative ways to reward employees through alternative, cost-effective employee benefits and services. The partnership of empower and Thomsons Online Benefits provides a user-friendly technology platform for benefits administration.
