2020 Payroll Solutions in Georgia took their client's money for payroll and for taxes, but didn't bother giving that money to the IRS. If you are the owner or potentially responsible officer of the company who was responsible for the payroll taxes, you have a big problem. The company is still responsible for payment of the tax and interest on the tax. If you request penalty abatement based upon reasonable cause, you will likely have the penalties abated (forgiven). Depending upon the amount of assets of the company there might be a less expensive way out.
