The company I worked for wants to expand into the European market. They sell winter sports gear (snowboards etc) and were thinking about possibly opening some retail outlets in Norway, France, Austria etc.
The person who replaced me now needs to know if there are any courses or online material to learn how to process payroll for these countries. Also is there any software that people can recommend for doing European payrolls?

Dear Adam,
I am sorry that you have not had a response from the various systems suppliers that visit the site. Having said that, I am not altogether surprised because, other than the very large systems like SAP and Peoplesoft, whose systems cost many £000s, there is little in the way of payroll systems that can handle many country's pay rules.
For this reason, many employers with employees in other countries use the services of payroll providers in those countries, or the large international accountancy practices who have offices around the world.
A couple of suggestions, but bear in mind that these are not recommendations.
The first is Compandben Ltd, based in Switzerland, but with associated businesses in many countries. If you do a simple search on the PayPerShop site, you will find all of the entries that relate to Compandben.
Second is a relatively new business in the UK, Patersons Payroll Solutions, who provide international payroll services, if I understand their business correctly. You can also find their details in PayPerShop. _________________ Ian Congreave, PayPerShop owner

Hi Adam,
First of all it is good news to hear of the company expanding into several European countries. I represent Patersons Payroll Solutions Ltd, an international specialist payroll organisation that has been in the market for 7 years. We can potentially provide a solution for your organisation that is flexible to suit your needs, for example if you want an in-house solution then we have a web-based system to allow this. Alternatively if you wish to outsource your payroll completely then we can provide that service too. We have a International network in over 35 countries including the countries that you are expanding in to. Our actual payroll system is translated into 14 different languages so local staff can work with our system in their native language.
What I suggest Adam is that if you wish to speak with us further, e-mail me your contact details and I will give you a call and we can get your secific requirements etc and go from there. My e-mail address is steve.greatley@patersons.net . I look forwards to hearing from you soon,
Steve Greatley

As it is a few weeks since the original message was posted, it is possible that Adam is no longer tracking the thread.
If you've not had a response in a couple of days, it wouldn't be inappropriate to send Adam a private message. You can do so by clicking the "PM" image underneath his post.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes, _________________ Greetings from David Congreave
