Hi just wondered if anyone can answer a question for me please.

Im going on holiday in a couple of weeks and there is no one to do the wages on sage. I go away on the saturday 9th Aug and the wages are due to be processed on the following Wednesday 13th August

Am i able to process the wages on say the Friday night i finish work? Would i just set the processing date to the relevant date and process as normal? I can leave the telepay forms for someone to fax to the bank on the wednesday but i have no one to cover the wages.

Its probably an obvious answer but i just wanted some clarifcation!

Thanks

I have no direct experience of Sage payroll but I suspect it is capable of handling the situation in the way you describe. I presume it is week 19 payroll that you want to process early.

The payroll system I use allows to me run and close the payroll for a particular pay week and then, if I wish, change the settings so that it is ready to process for the next week. You should be able to run week 18 payroll, close it off and print your reports and payslips, then set it to run week 19 straight away.

The only problem is that you will have to use unconfirmed hours or attendance data, so you might have to make a correction to individual employee's pay the week after you return. If that is going to be an issue, you need to let your employees know that you are running the payroll early and that could mean their pay is not correct and any adjustment will be made the following week.

Perhaps someone with Sage experience will also be able to comment. Alternatively, have you thought of posting your question on the Sage Forum, at http://www.sageforum.co.uk/?

I have been using SAGE for the past 6+ years and yes you can process your payroll run early.

Simply change your Process Date and ensure that the week / month number you are processing is correct.
