Organization Optimizes CheckPoint HR's Self-Service Capabilities
Edison, NJ - March 28, 2007 - CheckPoint HR, LLC, provider of a Web-based platform to automate all aspects of human resources, payroll services and benefits administrationtoday announced the New York Organ Donor Network is automating all HR processes utilizing their web-based Human Resource Management System (HRMS) portal. For the past two years, the New York Organ Donor Network, the second largest organ procurement organization in the country, has streamlined HR processes, offering employees self-service capabilities. CheckPoint HR's 24/7 on-demand, Web-based platform automates all aspects of the HR lifecycle, ranging from recruiting, background checks and benefits outsourcing to employee self-service and training.
The New York Organ Donor Network is one of only 58 federally-designated organ and tissue procurement organizations in the country. The non-profit organization coordinates the complete process of organ donation serving the Greater New York Metropolitan Area. The waiting list for organ transplants spans several years, motivating the New York Organ Donor Network to educate the public on the need for hearts, lungs, kidneys, pancreas, livers, intestines and tissue. "Informing the public on the importance of organ and tissue donation and encouraging family dialogue about intent of organ donation is a goal of the New York Organ Donor Network," said CFO Jim Aranda.
Prior to selecting CheckPoint HR, the New York Organ Donor Network manually processed payroll in their central office location. Cognizant of the inefficiencies of administering payroll manually, the New York Organ Donor Network was determined to upgrade to an automated payroll system.
The transition to the web-based HRMS portal was seamless. CheckPoint HR worked closely with the New York Organ Donor Network during the implementation process to ensure all information was transferred properly and users were fully trained on the new system. "The CheckPoint HR team was visible every step of the way," said Mr. Aranda. "They took their time educating our employees, even those who were somewhat resistant to embracing the new technology at first. Now it's difficult to imagine how they managed before having Web access to a fully integrated system."
The New York Organ Donor Network has given its staff a valuable tool to manage their personnel information. CheckPoint HR's unique self-service capabilities allow employees to gain access to their HR files 24/7. With tax season looming, employees can retrieve W-2 statements at the click of a mouse. Employees can also view how many vacation days they have available for the year, make benefits changes or view the holiday schedule. CheckPoint HR's archiving offers instant retrieval of previous years' financial statements and the data is never purged.
Spanning the Greater New York Metropolitan Area, the New York Organ Donor Network has off-site employees frequenting the organization's offices occasionally. By logging into the CheckPoint HR portal via the Internet, policies and forms are now available to employees at remote locations by use of the worksheets tool, anytime, anywhere.
Looking to the future with CheckPoint HR, the New York Organ Donor Network is planning to implement their Time and Attendance solution. This will allow the New York Organ Donor Network to simplify payroll activities processes further, which will reduce the processing of payroll from multiple locations. Activating Time and Attendance will provide better accuracy and eliminate paperwork redundancies.
