CIPD conference to help learning professionals embed coaching into the workplace

CIPD Annual Coaching at Work Conference, 17-18 October 2007, The Hurlingham Club, London

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's (CIPD) research shows that while over three-fifths of organisations undertake coaching activities, just one in ten say that coaching has been completely integrated with wider HR and learning and development strategy. CIPD's Annual Coaching at Work Conference will give people management and development professionals the opportunity to hear about new developments in the coaching arena and identify initiatives that will help ensure organisational objectives met.

A selection of coaching experts and case study organisations will come together at the conference chaired by David Megginson to provide practical guidance and updates on the latest research into key trends and best practice in coaching. Speakers at the event include:

  • David Rock, CEO, Results Coaching Systems on coaching with the brain in mind

  • Richard Elsner, Managing Director of The Turning Point and co author of Lost in Transition, and Liz Macann, Head of Executive Leadership and Management Coaching at the BBC, on coaching leaders through transitions

  • Dr Peter Hawkins, Co founder and Chair Bath Consultancy group on coaching supervision

  • Dr Harbrinder Dhillon-Stevens, Director of Training and Development, DhillonStevens Ltd on cross cultural coaching

  • Sara Ireland, HR Lead/Coaching Psychologist, TF, Isis and Jane Robinson, Leadership Coach, Organisation Development, Addenbrookes Hospital on getting management buy in to coaching

  • David Clutterbuck, Senior Partner, Clutterbuck Associates on unlocking difficult conversations

Delegates will also hear from leading edge organisations including:

The conference update day will include Carol Gaskell, Founder and CEO, of the Full Potential Group on maximising the potential of line managers as coaches. Mike Hurley from the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC0, David Lane from the Global Coaching Convention (GCC) and Carol Wilson from the Association for Coaching (AC), will be speaking at the evening drinks reception on October 17th. This will give delegates and speakers the chance to reflect and network at the exclusive Hurlingham Club.
