Web-based Trent to put 'personnel impact' at the heart of £1bn Rochdale regeneration
January 2008
Nottingham, 7 January 2008: To underpin the £1bn regeneration of Rochdale and the 1,300 jobs it will bring to the area, Agilisys, The Impact Partnership's ICT Service Provider, is implementing Trent, the leading web-based HR and payroll platform from MidlandHR. The Impact Partnership is a joint venture partnership between Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council, Agilisys and Mouchel, and was established in 2006 to deliver Highways, Property and ICT services to support the regeneration of the area.
The scale of the ambitious regeneration programme is demanding a seamless and accurate recruitment process, the transition of 13 growing payrolls to one system, employee access to personal records and a structured approach through workflow.
As The Impact Partnership's multiple departments, external agencies and existing employees are all placing significant demands on recruitment, Trent's web-recruitment module will provide an online front end for internal and external applicants and agencies. This will integrate fully with Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council's website and intranet to maintain application records and recall past candidate details, streamlining new employee start procedures and tracing internal applicants and job movement.
Nigel Muirhead, The Impact Partnership director from Agilisys commented: "Creating jobs, physically regenerating the environment, developing skills and transforming the delivery of services to the people in the area over the next 15 years needs serious organisation and management systems that can cope with changing demands. Trent will enable us to process HR and payroll information quickly and efficiently, whilst aiding greater retention of business intelligence - crucial to the smooth running of the programme.
"The council-wide roll-out of Trent will remove scope for error, with applications such as self-service providing tighter control and clarity over absence, holiday and personal details. These processes are currently paper-based and are subject to transcription errors."
For Rochdale Council, as an existing MidlandHR customer, upgrading to web-based Trent was a natural progression in the organisations' long-term relationship. The implementation also complements the project's £1.5m IT renewal programme and will tackle data inefficiencies that have arisen from misuse of HR and payroll records, to create a transparency and consistency of information.
Lawrence Knowles, managing director of MidlandHR concludes: "The Impact Partnership is bringing together the best of public and private sector skills to create an ambitious and socially aware organisation for Rochdale. By facilitating the removal of a lot of labour intensive procedures and providing accurate management information, MidlandHR is delighted to be playing an important role in this significant initiative. We are looking forward to opening up additional functionality within our web-based Trent for The Impact Partnership following the six month implementation, which will be completed in Spring 2008."
