The Payroll Site wins HM Revenue & Customs Accreditation

November 2006

The Payroll Site Ltd today announced that its TPS WebWages software has been accredited as meeting the requirements of the published HMRC Payroll Standard, version 7.0 and the relevant sections of the Inland Revenue Quality Standard version 1.0.

The Accreditation Scheme is designed to give employers an easy way to identify payroll software products that are capable of carrying out the complex calculations associated with PAYE, National Insurance Contributions and Statutory Payments. The scheme covers many features, including pensions, student loans and CSA deductions.

Steven Tucker, Managing Director of The Payroll Site Ltd said "The TPS Webwages software lies at the core of our online payroll service. We are delighted that our hard work has been rewarded with HMRC accreditation as this gives our customers the assurance that our innovative service is both accurate and comprehensive."

The online payroll service provided by The Payroll Site is a modern alternative to traditional software packages and bureau style services.

Customers use an ordinary web browser to securely access a centrally-managed service, without the need for them to install any software. The service allows the customer to calculate and print payslips at any time, from any location, without being tied to a single PC. It is designed to put the customer in control at all times, whilst freeing them from the headaches of software installation, upgrades and backups.

The service was launched in April 2004 and is based on a simple monthly subscription, starting at £5 per month (including technical support). A free trial is available via a simple online signup, and no annual contract is required. A multi-company option is also available, for accountants and bookkeepers who find it more convenient to manage all of their clients from a single account.

The payroll service incorporates an online filing capability by Internet. For no extra charge, employers can file their payroll returns online and thus benefit from the Government's tax free incentives. Small employers can claim back £150 from the HM Revenue and Customs for filing their 2006/07 return in this way.
