Silja Oy has signed an agreement concerning payroll services with Personec Ltd. On 1 May 2006, the payroll computation concerning some 550 of Silja's land-based employees was transferred to Personec's payroll service. A part of Silja's payroll team also transferred to Personec's employ.

Tuomas Routa, HR Director for Silja Oy Ab, explains that purchasing payroll services from an external provider allows Silja to focus on its own core business. "We chose Personec as our partner as we are confident that the company delivers the high-quality payroll service it promises," Routa says.
