In association with Haymarket publications, the workforce management software provider, SMART, recently hosted a HR round table event to discuss 'Profitable Flexibility' in the HR arena. The exclusive luncheon took place at The Dorchester Hotel, London on the 24th May 2006. The discussion was moderated by HR Magazine's Chief Editor, Trevor Merriden and included attendees from Hay Group, Nestor Healthcare Group, RCS, Wagamama and SMART's CEO, Eric Smart.
Eric Smart comments; "When executed properly and aligned with corporate objectives, flexible working offers a great opportunity to add real value to the bottom line. But for many the logistics of turning flexibility into higher levels of profitability remains difficult."
Innovative workforce management strategies were discussed across the table with focus on the ability to lever and maintain a diverse, adaptive and high performing work force, able to meet current and future business needs. Flexible working practices featured as a key topic with delegates agreeing that it is key to improving performance and productivity.
