SMART awarded preferred supplier status to provide e-Rostering solutions to East Midlands NHS Trusts
January 2008
SMART, the leading provider of true web-based workforce management solutions, has been chosen as one of two preferred suppliers by the re:source Procurement Hub to provide its electronic rostering solution to any of the 21 NHS Trusts in the East Midlands region. As members of the procurement hub, these trusts can purchase a system from SMART without the need to carry out a formal tender process.
Maninder Singh Dulku - Purchasing Manager at re:source Procurement Hub said "One of the biggest problems we face within the East Midlands is that most NHS Trusts currently construct their rosters at ward level through manually driven solutions, which brings about inherent difficulties and inefficiencies. The e-Rostering solution offered by SMART is an excellent system that will enable ward managers to quickly build rosters, defining the number of employees by skill mix needed to meet the complex demands of NHS Trusts. re:source Procurement Hub is confident that it has made the right choice in selecting SMART as one of two strategic partners for the region."
The SMART solutions incorporate e-Rostering including team based self-rostering and auto-rostering as well as fully automated time and attendance, absence management and monitoring of working time legislation. This unique breadth of functionality enables Trusts to improve their staff productivity and efficiency with significant reductions in bank, agency, and administration and absence costs.
Tristan Spencer, SMART's Health Market Director, said of the recent award, "This is another great achievement for SMART, we are getting some fantastic feedback from our existing NHS customers regarding the benefits of the eHL system and look forward to working with the East Midlands NHS Trusts."
