WESTON, Fla., Oct. 5 - Ultimate Software, a leading provider of human resources, payroll, and workforce management solutions, announced today that in a recent human resources management systems report conducted by Forrester Research, Inc., an independent technology research company that offers forward-thinking advice about technology's impact on business, Ultimate Software was identified as a "Leader" in the U.S. midmarket.
In the September 28 review, "Forrester Wave(TM): Human Resource Management Systems, Q3 2006," analyst Paul Hamerman evaluated three major elements of an HR solution-current offering, strategy, and market presence. Current offering categories included staffing and recruiting, personnel management, compensation, benefits, payroll, time and attendance and labor management, performance and learning, employee and manager self-service, and risk management.
In the document, Hamerman describes HRMS as "an essential core application" and attributes its "mission-critical nature" to four functions HRMS solutions help businesses with:
- Managing personnel costs,
- Operating efficient business processes,
- Complying with regulations and manage legal exposures, and
- Optimizing the value of human capital.
The Forrester analyst points out that leading vendors have gone beyond these core transactional functions in their solutions to deliver additional "strategic components," including recruitment, performance and talent management, learning management, and compensation.
Ultimate Software is described as "the largest U.S.-based pure-play HRMS solution provider, with most of its business now coming via its SaaS [Software as a Service] offering."
In the vendor summary titled, "Ultimate Software Delivers Leading HR Management Systems Functionality for U.S. Companies," Hamerman writes:
"In our evaluation, the UltiPro solution demonstrated well-rounded functionality, with depth in core transactional processes. It also displayed good coverage of strategic functions, including recruitment and performance management. While the solution appeals to all segments of the midmarket with strong usability, it has also been adopted by a significant number of companies with more than 10,000 employees.
